Presenter & Speaker List

Dan KNEECE, SOC Steadicam Operator, Director of Photography
After an illustrious 28-year career as a Steadicam operator, Kneece’s credits include Blue Velvet, The Patriot, Twin Peaks, Jackie Brown and The Road, projects that helped him earn a reputation as one of the top Steadicam operators in the business, and helped him to win election as the President of the SOC. He was also recently elected to the Guild’s National Executive Board, and has served on the Western Regional Council and as a delegate to the IATSE Convention.

He’s just finished what he swears are his last Steadicam gigs – a music video for Guy Sebastian done as a single Steadicam shot in 3D and a series of 3D tests for the upcoming Fright Night. Kneece also worked as the main camera operator on the Foo Fighters most recent concert which was shown live in 3D in over 80 theaters across the US back on April 5th.

Jeb JOHENNING, and son Jimmy JOHENNING will be giving a brief demonstration at our workshop of the Brainstorm/Qtake HD 3D Video Assist system, followed by a comparative look at the workflows used by his son on the Pirates 3D film vs. what's being used on the Spiderman 3D film.

In 1994, Jeb Johenning, an industrial designer, and Richard Goodman, an award winning production sound mixer, created the first company in the film industry that specialized in the emerging technology of Digital Video Assist. What is now standard practice on nearly every film production, was pioneered by Ocean Video in feature films such as “The Matrix” and “Alien Resurrection”

Today, Ocean Video leads the industry with cutting edge solutions for every type of video and film production including 3D digital cinema. Most recently, Jeb has created world-class 3D video assist systems to support 3D filming of "Pirates of Caribbean" and "The Amazing Spiderman."

Remy MEDRANDA, Editor, Producer & Stereographer
Freelance filmmaker, Remy Medranda began shooting video in 2002 at the age of 18, and has been producing engaging content all over the world for the past nine years. During the past two and half years, he has obsessively devoted day and night to learning the art of producing immersive 3D content, and in doing so has become actively engaged in the 3D community. Remy founded the Stereoscopic Filmmakers community, and is a freelance stereographer and stereoscopic consultant currently working in the Los Angeles area. When he is not out shooting 3D, or in the office supervising his next project, he’s at home with his wife taking care of his 2 kids and two mini-schnauzers.
