Stereograph by: Lewis Emory Walker Date: February 1865 HOW TO EXPERIENCE LINCOLN IN 3D: 1) Use a stereoscopic viewer and see it the way Lincoln did. 2) View it with a lenticular display (autosteroscopic = 3D without glasses) in camera mode like a 3D smartphone, Fuji W1, Fuji W3, or even a Nintendo 3DS. 3) Or enter the left and right images into StereoData Maker and create your own 3D image. Download StereoData Maker here! 4) Or the coolest way – you can FREEVIEW: Stare into the middle until the left image and the right image form President Lincoln in depth. ONE LAST THING: Why is Lincoln’s hair so short in this photograph? I found these notes from the Library of Congress,”The short haircut was perhaps suggested by Lincoln’s barber to facilitate the taking of a life mask by Clark Mills. Lincoln knew from experience how long hair could cling to plaster.” Which means President Lincoln was both photographed and molded in 3D!
